Harar - life & colorfull

Harar jugol enamora...

........................

I love Hara Jugol...This is the old city of Harar  ... and that in addition to friendly people, the city is an explosion of color and life on the streets.
It is a city where the chat is chewed and sold in every corner, where Muslim women wear colorful scarves, the sun is strong but not sweltering , animals walks on streets, children playing marbles or they give you the best and imp smiles,  hyenas visit you at night and walk through that streets is to appreciate a mixture of styles ranging from hundreds of Muslim mosques coexist with Orthodox churches, to Indian or Italian buildings. The women selling fruit or vegetables are numerous as well as the tailors with sewing machines that meet in a single street and it is called.... damn memory! i will get it, cos is really funny.
By the way, i will show the children´s photos in other post, they deserve an entry all to themselves!

Handmade

..........

It was so hard not to buy everything i saw in the store . If I had farangi budget, I would have left the shop as a Christmas tree, with a thousand things hanging.

I have to admit that finally bought a colorful scarf that muslim woman is wearing.  The most striking ... red! only 200 birr (about 8 euros) its worthy to have it even i never use like them, but my children are happy to play as hararis women!

But the most valuable thing was to see the skill of this woman braideding and sewing the precious crafts store, and im sure that some other luckier farangi will buy them :)

Back in time - Camel Market

............

I just returned from a world full of images full of sensations and different feelings.
I Don´t  really know where i have to start because they are all  special and the truth is that I'm having a great time editing them and remembering all these moments, so recent, that almost remember every detail.

The visit to the camel market a few miles away from the city of Harar in Ethiopia was like opening a door to the past. The camel herders are mostly Oromo  and they speak only Oromifa, understand us was complicated, and they dont like to be photographied.
but nothing is more permissive than a innocent farangi girl  shooting here and there trying to ignore the looks of distrust of those who did business there ..but really they didn´t  understand well that I did there.

But obviously i will fill this blog with pictures of the market and Harar, mostly in color, because if something has Harar is its colorful, these first will be absent from color. Only a small selection that I want to enjoy , because when I started to edit, the tone i used captivated me, because if the market moved me to the past, the treatment i used for the pic accelerated my journey.

come with me :)

PLANTA

................

This cat deserves a blog post and a photo ...
She spent many years with us, but is not our property, she is of the neighbor .... well, she's free, she was of the neighbor years ago, and only few months, but the house changed occupants and she never belonged to anyone, she is herself.
The brother disappeared. She is a super cat, surviving in a hostile environment such as a highway a few meters and the diseases they can find and the street. She is beautiful, loving ... and free.
She comes to eat when she want (most days) , gives us his purrs, she comes home but does not stay.
She likes her life as it is. Occasionally disappears but always returns.
My niece called Plant. but she should be called Super Plant!!! although I must say ...she gives a damn about her name! :)

Beyond lines

...................

Sunday ... not many people on the street,  what I can do today ... try to handle a baby lens I bought. not  yet domesticated. This will be the input of another post. And I look at the lines and shapes that I have around me. Daily lines and shapes without any further pretensions can be made simple but beautiful photograph ...

Tsavo

...........

I am in a whirlwind tour of a few days to Mombasa, no thought of visiting Tsavo National Park. And i know it's good to let plans randomly, but i wished to be a photographer for National Geographic  with a zoom lens of 1 meter long! . And me with my poor camera, barely see clearly the animal in question.
Here the most beautiful elephants, zebras and onyx that crossed my path. The giraffe, lion / lioness and other wonders stayed unreachable distances for my camera : (

Awesome natura....
